      8 # Setting up is-a.dev with Railway

     10 ## Getting the CNAME Record

     12 1. Navigate to the [dashboard](https://railway.app/dashboard) > project > service
     13 2. Switch to the **Settings** tab and click on **+ Custom Domain** button.
     14 3. Enter the `is-a.dev` subdomain you want to use (ex: `subdomain.is-a.dev`)
     15 4. Copy the **Value** field for `@` and create `subdomain.json`

     26 5. Copy the **Value** field for `_railway-verify` and create `_railway-verify.subdomain.json`

     37 6. After you have made the two files, you should make a pull request.

     40 **Adding the website preview is mandatory**, since the CNAME value Railway gives you doesn't actually show you the website you are running.

     43 - **If the PR has been merged, the DNS records will be updated in a few minutes.**
